Royal Vopak announces a new expansion project at the Vopak Singapore - Banyan Terminal. The company will add 105,000 cbm capacity for biodiesel storage, bringing the storage capacity of the Banyan Terminal to 535,000 cbm by the end of 2007. 

Vopak Singapore commissioned the Banyan Terminal on Jurong Island in April this year with a capacity of 370,000 cbm. This was followed by the announcement to expand this terminal with 60,000 cbm storage capacity for chemicals. Today we can announce further expansion of 105,000 cbm for biodiesel.

Vopak Terminals Singapore has signed a long term contract with Natural Fuel Pte Ltd to support the logistics for their new biodiesel plant on Jurong Island, close to the Banyan Terminal. The plant and logistic infrastructure, including two additional jetties, will be operational by the second half of 2007 and will bring the total storage capacity of the Banyan Terminal to 535,000 cbm.

Vopak Terminals Singapore Pte Ltd is 69.5% owned by Royal Vopak and 30.5% owned by PSA Corporation Limited. The company operates four storage terminals for oil products and chemicals in Singapore: Banyan, Penjuru, Sakra and Sebarok. The four terminals currently offer a total storage capacity of 1.9 million cbm.
