  • Vopak acquires remaining 50% interest in DUPEG (Hamburg) from Lehnkering
  • As a result, Vopak takes full ownership of this storage company

Koninklijke Vopak N.V. announces its agreement with its partner Lehnkering GmbH, earlier today, to acquire the latter’s 50% interest in DUPEG Tank-Terminal Deutsch-Ueberseeische Petroleum GmbH & Co (DUPEG). Following this acquisition, Vopak takes full ownership of this terminal established in Hamburg (Germany).

Kees van Seventer, President of Vopak Chemicals Europe, Middle East & Africa, says: “DUPEG is a perfect terminal for the worldwide network of Vopak terminals. That is why we immediately seized the opportunity to take full ownership of the terminal. Vopak has been co-owner of DUPEG since 1997. Under the name Vopak DUPEG Hamburg, we will continue to serve our clients in the same excellent manner as before.”

The DUPEG terminal holds 120 tanks with a combined capacity of 137,000 m3. The terminal has two deep-sea jetties and various loading stations for cars and railway carriages.

This terminal mainly processes a wide range of chemical products. In addition, Vopak operates another terminal for oil products at the same port (720,000 m3).
