Vopak Venezuela (Puerto Cabello)
The WeConnect team in Venezuela, in collaboration with their partner organizations, has developed a program for a group of 90 children (aged 10-17 years) from low-income households living in the neighboring community of La Belisa.
The program lasts 10 weeks (5 mornings per week) and coincides with the 'Plan Vacacional', the period in between school years.
The project will provide the youngsters with tools and knowledge to make them realize that they have an impact on the world, starting with their own community and family. Some of the topics that will be discussed are social awareness, finance, home and school safety, English, personal growth and values.
Due to the difficult economic situation in Venezuela, the children will also have a daily breakfast and lunch as well as a complementary food basket for the families of the kids throughout the duration of the project.
