Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Royal Vopak) has announced that it will begin constructing the new Vopak Terminal Linkeroever for the storage and transhipment of liquid chemicals in Antwerp (Belgium) in February 2007.

Gate terminal B.V., a joint venture between N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie (Gasunie) and Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Vopak), develops a Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) import terminal on the Maasvlakte near Rotterdam. Drs. Ulco Vermeulen has been appointed as Managing Director of Gate terminal B.V. (Gate).

In the first six months of 2006, Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Royal Vopak) realised income from rendering of services EUR 382.8 million, an increase of 17% on the same period of the previous year (1H 2005: EUR 326.2 million).

Royal Vopak announces a new expansion project at the Vopak Singapore - Banyan Terminal. The company will add 105,000 cbm capacity for biodiesel storage, bringing the storage capacity of the Banyan Terminal to 535,000 cbm by the end of 2007.

Royal Vopak announces two expansion projects in Asia. At its Sebarok Terminal in Singapore, the company will add 216,000 cbm fuel oil storage capacity to the current capacity of 1,037,800 cbm. In Vietnam near Ho Chih Minh City, Vopak has acquired an 80% interest in a terminal to serve the chemicals trade.

Mitsui and Vopak have decided not to continue pursuing a previously-announced 50/50 joint venture regarding their tank storage activities in North America. The joint decision was reached after careful analysis of a number of unresolved issues, including the timing and outcome of all necessary approvals. Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Royal Vopak) announces plans to develop a second oil terminal in the Port of Amsterdam. Vopak and the Amsterdam Port Authority recently signed a letter of intent for the rental of a site in Westpoort, the western port area, in the Afrikahaven harbour. Earlier this week, Vopak also submitted an EIR [environmental impact report] initiative memorandum to the Noord-Holland Provincial Council.

N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie (Gasunie) and Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Vopak), partners in the Gate terminal project (LNG), have reached an agreement with two major European gas companies for a total of 5 bcm per year throughput capacity. One of these agreements is with RWE, one of Europe’s leading electricity and gas companies.

Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Royal Vopak) announces that its first quarter group operating profit for 2006 at EUR 52.8 million is 39.3% up on the same period of the previous year (Q1 2005: EUR 37.9 million). There were no exceptional items to report in the first quarter of 2006 (Q1 2005: EUR - 4.3 million).

Today, Royal Vopak announces that its fourth terminal in Singapore has been officially opened by Mr Lim Hng Kiang, Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore. With completion of the first phase of the Vopak Singapore - Banyan Terminal the company adds 370,000 cbm capacity to its network. Strategically located, on the crossroads of fast growing geographies like China and South East Asia and rapidly expanding production centres in the Middle East, the Banyan terminal will meet the need for storage facilities in this region of both the oil and chemical trade.

Dubai, 4 April 2006, Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd. is to expand the oil terminal’s capacity by 360,000 cbm of new tankage and two new berths. Following this expansion the oil terminal will have a total capacity of 1.5 million cbm, six berths, and a single-point mooring system capable of handling vessels up to 175,000 d.w.t.

BIOPETROL INDUSTRIES AG (BIOPETROL) and a group company of Royal Vopak (Vopak) signed a long term co-site agreement. BIOPETROL is to construct its third production facility. The plant will be built in Rotterdam at the Vopak Terminal Botlek Noord.

In 2005, Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Royal Vopak) generated an income from rendering of services of EUR 683.6 million, a rise of 5.5% as compared with the previous year (2004: EUR 648.1 million). Adjusted for disposed business components, the increase amounts to 10%.

Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc. (Mitsui USA) and Royal Vopak (Vopak) announced today their intention to merge their complementary tank terminal activities in the United States and Canada in a new Joint Venture, to be named Vopak ITC. Mitsui USA and Vopak will participate on a 50%/50% basis. This is a reflection of the comparable EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) of the respective businesses to be contributed to the new venture.
