N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie (Gasunie) and Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Vopak) have successfully completed their initial study into the feasibility of a terminal for liquid natural gas (LNG) on the Maasvlakte (the Netherlands).

Koninklijke Vopak N.V. announces its agreement with its partner Lehnkering GmbH, earlier today, to acquire the latter’s 50% interest in DUPEG Tank-Terminal Deutsch-Ueberseeische Petroleum GmbH & Co (DUPEG). Following this acquisition, Vopak takes full ownership of this terminal established in Hamburg (Germany).

Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Royal Vopak) achieved an group operating profit excluding exceptional items for the third quarter of 2005 of EUR 45.6 million (Q3 2004: EUR 38.2 million). The impact of exceptional items in Q3 2005 was a reduction in profit of EUR 1.5 million (Q3 2004: reduction of EUR 0.4 million), caused mainly by a downward value adjustment on activities to be discontinued. Vopak’s group operating profit excluding exceptional items for the first three quarters of 2005 is EUR 130.6 million (YTD Q3 2004: EUR 112.0 million).

In the first half of 2005, Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Royal Vopak) generated net turnover of EUR 326.2 million. For the same period of 2004, net turnover was EUR 322.0 million, which included EUR 14.0 million of turnover generated by activities that have since been sold. After adjusting for an adverse currency translation effect of EUR 3.8 million and discontinued activities, net turnover rose by 7.2%.
