Today (5 November 2004) Vopak Chairman Carel van den Driest has been awarded the 2004 Singapore National Day Award (Public Service Star) by the Government of Singapore.

The Public Service Star - Distinguished Friends of Singapore is Singapore’s most prestigious national award given to outstanding international business friends in recognition of longstanding support and invaluable contributions to the Singapore economy.

The Public Service Star was presented by the President of Singapore, Mr S. R. Nathan.
